North Korea Day

Thank you for your unwavering support! It truly empowers the students and teachers at Amerischool Academy. Just a few weeks ago, I had the joy of engaging with the remarkable kids from Ms. Crisambra Williams’s class [Grades 3 and 4 combined]. On my visit, the students showcased their group research project on Northern Korea!

I inquired with Ms. Williams about how the class chose this unique country. Without hesitation, she passed the question to the “Class President,” a position that this enthusiastic student campaigned for and won! As our conversation unfolded, I was inspired to learn that the classroom structure mirrors that of the U.S. democratic system. With great insight, Ms. Williams shared her vision: “It’s never too early to learn and understand how democracy works.”

Later that day, after recess, the students’ presentations began. They explored topics from finance to forestry, Bimbap to K-Pop, and even offered delicious foods to sample! As a trained culinarian, I can attest that food is an incredible way to engage students and ADULTS alike. “Impressed” doesn’t fully capture what this class achieved—they ignited their passions, and the students fueled that fire.

In many communities, teachers who inspire their students often lack the necessary tools. Budgets are stretched thin, and essentials for the classroom are sometimes out of reach. For Ms. Williams’s class, the essentials this January were simply “PENCILS” and “Office Chairs.” The gratitude I received for providing these two basic items was heartwarming! We are nearing our fundraising deadline of July 13th. Our “Christmas in July” distribution date is also approaching. We are relying on “THE PEOPLE!”

Creative Purpose Tempe began as an idea, but with your generous donations, we are slowly but surely fulfilling our promise. We are changing our corner of the world, one shirt at a time! So spread the word, share our story, and remind others that none of this is possible without your support. Thank you!
